The theme of our Fourth Global Convocation is “Bringing Light to the Nations.” We look forward to hearing how David Malick will develop this theme during the devotional times each day.

David E. Malick received a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Kent State University, a Master of Theology in Bible Exposition from Dallas Theological Seminary, and his Juris Doctorate from Capital University Law School. He has also engaged in post-graduate studies at Dallas Theological Seminary and the University of South Africa.

            As a professional musician, Dave performed studio work in Cleveland, Ohio where he also played for Tony Bennett, Steve Allen, Lawrence Welk, Perry Como, Bob Hope, Danny Thomas, Helen Ready, Dizzy Gillespie, and President Ford, among many others. As a theologian, Dave planted The Chapel in North Canton, Ohio, taught biblical courses at Dallas Theological Seminary and Southeastern Bible College, continues to publish articles in academic journals, and present papers at the national meetings for the Evangelical Theological Society, has authored the book Narrative Art & Women in the Gospels and Acts, and is the interim Pastor at Riverchase Baptist Church in Hoover, Alabama.

            Dave manages an international trademark portfolio and copyright matters for a major manufacturer and is also engaged in a trial practice representing employers and companies in the defense of various types of litigation, including business disputes, personal injury, workers’ compensation, Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA), federal black lung, and employment matters. Dave also has extensive experience in resolving domain name disputes through ICANN’S Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP).

            Admitted to practice before the federal and state courts in Alabama, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States, Dave is a member of the Birmingham and Alabama State Bar and the American Bar Association. Dave has appellate experience before administrative agencies, the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals, the Alabama Supreme Court, and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.

He also enjoys running in marathons and participating in triathlons. Dave is married to Lynn Gannett-Malick who serves as Director of Children’s Ministry at Riverchase Baptist Church.
