Integrity as a Defense Counsel

Eric Davis graduated from Howard University (B.A. cum laude 1991) and from Tulane University Law School (J.D. magna cum laude 1994).  Following graduation from Gerry Spence's Trial Lawyers College, he joined their staff and helps train lawyers from across the country. 

Eric started his legal career as a prosecutor in Florida, where he served in a sex crimes unit.  After moving to Texas, he became the senior member of Davis & Associates, PLLC, Houston.  Since 2011 he has been service as an Assistant Public Defender in the Felony Trial Division, Harris County, Texas.  He has successfully defended numerous criminal cases in federal and state courts, ranging from capital murder to multiple defendant drug conspiracies, to misdemeanors.

In 2003, Mr. Davis received a commendation from the Texas State Legislature for his service as Special Counsel to the Texas State Commission on Judicial Conduct.  In 2006, he received the "Unsung Hero Award" from the Harris County Criminal Lawyers Association, and the "Man of the Year Award" from the Houston Business and Professional Women's Association.  Also that same year. Eric made national news and was featured in several stories printed in the Houston Chronicle for his work that exonerated a man who had been wrongfully imprisoned for over 18 years for an alleged sexual assault of a child.
